Previously, just like Oculus Rift and Rift S customers, Valve Index owners had to sign-up by 30th June. With only available from 28th June this left only a short window of availability. Plus there was the factor regarding the first batch of Valve Index shipments selling out rather rapidly, so customers who didn’t place their orders the moment the pre-order page went live to receive their headsets.Because of this Viveport has stated: “This offer will extend to Valve Index owners who will be able to redeem their two-free months of Viveport Infinity later this summer as headsets become available.”and if you want to continue using Viveport Infinity then the monthly cost is $12.99 USD/£12.99 GBP. Hey guys,So I've spent the better part of the day trying to get Portal 2 to work on my DK2, and I'm finally giving up and asking for help.I was using an old version of the Vireio Perception drivers and running Portal from steam (passing in -w/-h command line arguments to force the resolution to 1920x1080). This was working fine. Then I thought 'Hey, the new driver supports head tracking!
That'd be cool.' And downloaded the updated driver. I'm now on 2.0.6 (Oct 23).It's been no end of frustration. For some reason regardless of what display I set as my main, it generally tries to force the game to play on my laptop's screen (the Perception app is set to use Monitor 2, although I tried both).
Somewhere along the line fiddling with every setting and rebooting it seems to have stopped doing that most of the time. Then I was getting nothing but a black screen. Eyeshield 21 anime torrent. Music is playing and if I mash the arrow keys I can hear the menu navigating. The DK2 goes black, so it's definitely running on there, just not actually rendering anything.More flailing at random options and I eventually got something rendering. Except now I'm only getting half an eye in each screen. In my left eye I can see the left half of a correctly distorted render, and in the right eye I can see the right half of a correctly distorted render.
Both border on the middle.I tried removing Perception, deleting the folder from%LOCALAPPDATA% and then re-extracting and re-running, but I'm not getting anywhere.Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong, or what I could try? Thanks!. 2.0.6 is no longer the latest version, you want to get 2.1.0 as that has improved portal 2 support, and a fix that resolved some of the issues people had when starting games like the one you appear to be having. Please go to and go to the Vireio Perception area, if you go to downloads you should find an appropriate download link (I'm writing this on my phone so don't have links readily to hand)If you get really stuck and have issues please post back and I'll do what I can to help.Edit: corrected URL and found the link you need:.
Thanks a lot. I'm pretty new to the DK2 and entire VR community in general - is it generally safe to assume mtbs3d is the latest/authoritative copy of software?I updated to 2.1.0 and I'm still having the same issue. With a lot of messing around I managed to capture a screenshot of that display with Portal running -.That hasn't been resized, the image as it was taken was 768x1024. Both my displays are set for 1920x1080 and the dk2 display is properly oriented (and works okay with the Unity demos and stuff). I tried forcing Portal to both of 1920x1080 and 1080x1920 with the command line options (throwing stuff at the wall.) and saw the same results.Again, thank you for the help. Firstly, yes, mtbs3d is home to Vireio, though release notifications do get posted here on Reddit as well, there are a number of forums on MTBS3D for Vireio users to post specific game issues. So, to your problem.

Can I check you have set your DK2 to 'Portrait' in the GPU control panel?, and also, what is your GPU? The screenshot is oriented at a really weird angle. That is either part of the problem, or simply you holding the DK2 at a strange angle when it was taken.Essential configuration is 'portrait' for the screen rotation, and then 1920x1080 resolution. You will also need to set this resolution in the game itself, I am not sure if the command line parameters will do what is necessary to make it work correctly, so go into the graphics settings and configure it there. Do this WITHOUT Vireio running or it will crash and not take.Let me know if you still don't get anywhere with it.EDIT, typo.
Tried that and everything else I could think of, no luck with Portal. (And yeah, my DK2 was sitting on my lap while I was taking that screenshot.
Wasn't much use on my face at the time.)I tried Borderlands 2 and The Stanley Parable and both worked pretty much out of the box. That seems to indicate it's an issue with Portal, not the rest of the setup.I tried verifying the game cache for Portal, it thought it was fine. I've completely uninstalled it and am downloading it as my internet allows to see if that fixes the issue.I'll report back if it fixes anything. Thanks again for taking the time to help.
HL2 already supports DK2. So does SteamVR interface. However, Portal 1 and or 2 is not supported with the rift. My guess to why is that portal uses a rather heavily modified version of the source engine to run the portal physics, and supporting development versions of VR in two branches of the Source engine is not really an optimal thing to do.If you wanted to backport VR into your engine, would you do it to the modified version that only runs the really disorienting game (even on 2d-screens), or the game which begins slow by a walk in a city with LOTS of cool stuff to look at, and then slowly progress into an epic battle between the god Azeroth. Wait my train of thought got derailed.Anyway, HL3 not confirmed.
Just wanted to throw something out there I have experienced. Sometimes when altering/adding these modified.dlls I've managed to overlap the wrappers and ended up with half screens in each eye or 4 separate screens on one display.
This is usually due to a modification trying to run twice or some other mistake on my part. Usually because I have tried a couple types of VR software on the same game. My solution is usually to remove the.dlls completely or the entire directory they reside in. Then run a 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache' from the 'Local Files' tab in the game properties.
Once steam has repaired the missing files, replace the files required by the VR software and try again. I'm not saying this is the solution for your specific issue, but it has helped me correct issues of this type in the past.
